Not applicable office (n/a office) is a creative practice operating in and around the arenas of architecture, art, and film. Conceived in 2023 as an experimental practice by Angela Pedraza and Nefer Fernandez, n/a office’s work is imbued with the holistic meaning of community and a reverence for traditional ecological knowledge while embracing a contemporary approach to form and space.

We are co-conspirators in shaping narratives that uniquely define each project, and our collaborators span a wide range—from the local flora and fauna to artists, musicians, clients, partners, institutions and objects. By nurturing these diverse relationships, we strive to seamlessly weave nature and culture into our designs. Our approach aims to work with nature and community, rather than against them, to create a lasting future for all.

We acknowledge that we operate on the traditional and unceded territory of the Chumash, Gabrieleño Tongva and Kizh peoples. We pay our respects to the original caretakers of this land, their elders, past and present, and extend our gratitude for their enduring presence and contributions to this region. As we work and live on this land, we constantly reflect on our relationship with it and its indigenous history. Let us all foster a sense of responsibility for this land and work toward a more symbiotic future. We are committed to the process of working to dismantle the ongoing legacies of settler colonialism.
